Former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy was formally charged with a felony count of cocaine possession by a Dallas County grand jury on Monday.Hardy was arrested Sept. 26 after being pulled over for failure to signal a left turn, and a search of his vehicle revealed what police said was cocaine and an item containing marijuana remnants, according to police documents. If Hardy is found guilty, he could be fined up to $10,000 and spend at least 180 days in jail.Hardy told police at the time of the arrest that he didnt know what was in a bag that police said contained cocaine, and Hardy said somebody gave him the bag at a party the previous night.Hardy said he had been passing his wallet around at the party because he was paying for everybody and that must have been when the baggie was put in his wallet, according to the police report. The report also made reference to a couple of gun club membership cards in Hardys wallet. When the NFL suspended Hardy for 10 games last season over a domestic violence case stemming from an incident that occurred when he played for the Carolina Panthers in 2014, the league cited the presence of guns in his apartment in the ruling. An arbitrator reduced the ban to four games.Hardy, 28, played for the Cowboys last season after spending the first five years of his career with the Panthers. He had six sacks in 12 games for Dallas in 2015 after missing the first four games of the season due to the suspension. In his first extended public comments after the completion of his suspension, he said he would come out guns blazing and made inappropriate comments about New England Patriots quarterback Tom Bradys wife. On at least two occasions, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett had to speak to Hardy about his Twitter feed. Owner and general manager Jerry Jones also had a sit-down meeting with Hardy later in the season. The charges from his 2014 domestic violence case were dropped and his record expunged, but in November, Deadspin released photos from the night of the alleged incident that showed bruising to his ex-girlfriends back, jaw and feet.In an interview with ESPN, Hardy said he was an innocent man and denied he had ever put his hands on a woman. Of the photos, he said: Pictures are pictures, and they can be made to look like whatever they want to.Hardy remains unsigned. In April, Jones said he would not re-sign Hardy. Bruins Jerseys China . Great Britain need to win one of Sundays singles matches against Serbia to reach the Davis Cup semifinals after Jamie Murray and Dom Inglot won the doubles rubber in Belgrade. The defending champions led overnight thanks to Kyle Edmunds convincing victory over Janko Tipsarevic but James Ward was just as well beaten by Dusan Lajovic in the delayed second rubber played on Saturday afternoon. That left the tie firmly in the balance, with the doubles rubber seen as crucial to both teams hopes, but especially to those of Britain. There were plenty of nerves on show but the British pair recovered from a wobble at the end of the second set and the start of the third to win 6-1, 6-7(2), 6-3, 6-4.Murray and Inglot had only played one previous Davis Cup rubber together before, losing to Americas Bryan brothers in the opening round last year. The Murray brothers teamed up for the rest of the title-winning campaign, leaving Inglot sitting on the sidelines and still waiting for his first victory in the competition. That was expected to come here, with Serbia fielding Nenad Zimonjic, a classy but fading doubles force at the age of 40, and the inexperienced Filip Krajinovic. The Serbians had named Tipsarevic in their doubles pair at the draw on Thursday but he revealed after Fridays match that he was struggling with illness. He hinted that Krajinovic, who had not playyed a match since May because of injury, was also far from 100 percent, and the 24-year-old looked distinctly rusty as Britain raced through the opening set with the sun finally shining over the Tasmajdan Stadium.ddddddddddddMurray and Inglot had chances in the second set, too, missing four break points, and Zimonjic took full advantage in the tie-break. The start of the third set was the key to the match, with Serbia now playing confidently, and both Inglot and Murray came under pressure on their serves. But they weathered it and finally ended a run of nine unconverted break points when Zimonjic double-faulted to trail 5-3. Britain made it five games in a row to lead 2-0 in the fourth and survived a nervy last service game from Inglot to make it 15 doubles victories from the last 17 rubbers.Earlier, Ward, whose ranking has slipped to 240, played like a man lacking in form and confidence as he went down 6-1, 6-3, 6-2 to world No.81 Lajovic.Edmund will have the chance to win the tie when he takes on Lajovic, the Serbian No.1 in the absence of Novak Djokovic and Troicki, in what looks a very tough match to call. A Lajovic win would send the tie into a decisive fifth rubber between Ward and either Tipsarevic or Krajinovic. ' ' '
